Inventory supervisor

Vacancy description:

• Collaborate with Geozone Leadership, Product Lines of Business Unit and Geozone and Region Supply Chain Managers in defining and implementing asset and inventory strategies to optimize inventory & asset investments. Manage and execute strategic choices around:
• Asset: Country Network Sourcing Model (Centralized Vs. Decentralized), and acquisition (Manage flow of asset requirements, Free Zones, etc.);
• Inventory: Geozone Network Sourcing Model (Centralized Vs. Decentralized), including working with Geozone Product Lines to ensure that identification of primary source and lead time selection processes are completed; Execute replenishment strategy (Make to Order, Make to Stock) and  Rules (Min/Max, Safety Stock/DRP).
• Identify and highlight key issues preventing the execution of inventory and asset strategies and improvement of results; work with Product Lines of Business Unit and Geozone Leadership to drive change: coach and support development of targeted improvement action plans.
• Support Business Unit in the process of establishing DSI, CapEx Planning, inventory budgeting and forecasting, and capital budgeting and AFE forecasting
• Set item/location-specific inventory targets and enter agreed upon targets into JDE (or alternative ERP system used), while providing support to the sites in calculating and adjusting.
• Understand, communicate, and implement the overall process to ensure Sites optimize:
• The acquisition of new asset in alignment with asset processes and targeted turns/utilization
• The replenishment of inventory in alignment with inventory processes and targeted DSI/Turns/DOC
• Ensure there is a process supporting the identification and use of asset and inventory as part of the capital/asset/inventory request process.
• Design strategies, implement tactics, and execute plans to address slow moving asset and inventory and assist in locating excess of both asset and inventory; conform to Tax, Intercompany Transfer and Trade Compliance rules to confirm transfer can take place.
• Liaise with Finance and Geozone Asset and Inventory Manager to ensure that Asset Transfer Policies and procedures are adhered to, including the timely release of slow moving assets for transfer (both temporarily and permanently). Ensure that the Inventory Without Borders (IWB) process is used when needed.
• Work with Geozone Asset and Inventory Manager to establish the country plans and requirements for maintaining good execution of the control (count) process.
• Support Site Inventory and Asset personnel in establishing fundamental Warehouse Management practices, including labelling of products, bin locations set up, and layout for efficient equipment process flow.
• Monitor Sites’ compliance to asset and inventory policies and procedures. Ensure asset and inventory counts are performed as per standard process.
• Monitor accuracy results. Ensure variances are investigated and captured utilizing the Root Cause Analysis documentation.  Assist Sites to develop and implement accuracy improvement plans based on root cause analysis of variances.
• Support establishment and ensure use of fundamental maintenance practices, in cooperation with OEPS, including standard processes and use of Equipment Management (EM) tools.
• Provide input and support to asset and inventory disposal process.
• Report and monitor asset and inventory KPIs as required:
• Inventory: e.g. Inventory Balance ($), DSI, Turns, Inventory Accuracy;
• Asset: e.g. Asset Turns, Forecasted-Budgeted-Actual CapEx, Asset Accuracy and Utilization.
• Leverage identified key issues in reports to initiate discussions with Regions and Sites to drive improvement.
• Provide departmental contacts and control for inter region and external asset and inventory transfers for the relevant locations to improve optimization and efficiency.

Qualification:

• Higher education certificate in Asset, Inventory and Logistics Management or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience in the supply of goods for the Oil and Gas Industry > 5 years
• Proven Supervisory experience > 5years.
• Excellent knowledge in asset and inventory management
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, multi-tasking.
• Ability to analyze information, think independently, take responsibility for making and implementing decisions.
• Computer literate in MS Word, Excel and relevant programs
• Familiar with 1C warehouse, JDE or similar systems
• Proven Leadership Qualities
• Must be a team player with good communication skills – both verbal and written
• Able to effectively manage, train and mentor departmental staff
• Problem solver with eye for errors and improvements
• Hands on and very mobile
